I got to share so many experiences with so many warm and wonderful people. I sang. I danced. I swam in a cold, pristine hillside creek. I received wisdom and insight from Native American tribal elders. I experienced the radiant warmth of a campfire as so many of our ancestors and forebearers before us, and became a muse as those around us felt the inspiration to sing and dance and feel the rhythm of the night in their drums. I walked the land and my feet and my body and my face became earthy and beautiful. I felt the blessings of the earth and sun and sky and shared in those blessings with the children of the earth.
I became part of something so much greater than myself. For one minute, the thousands of people at the Earthdance in northern California were joined with the hearts, minds, energy, and spirit of millions around the world. Millions of hearts crying out for peace, for our people and for our planet.
One of the Native American elders shared some words of wisdom which I want to work towards making my personal philosophy... I would also like to pass this wisdom along as well:
"As long as it is done with honor and respect, it is between you and the Creator. Ain't nobody else's business."
